One of the many magnificent creatures that have been spotted at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary are owls. The students in our classes have been asking to learn more about these amazing creatures. As such we started researching these creatures as a class and as a center choice using Epic on the iPads. Students in both AM and PM have completed a learn to draw owl and have began learning more about these birds. Check out some of our work so far... Through this work we are continuing to practice our printing of upper and lowercase letters. We are also beginning to write sentences beginning with an upper case letter, ending with a period and using finger spaces between our words. Please encourage your child to write books at home, keeping the above mentioned goals in mind. We will be continuing our research next week. Our class code for EPIC is kuz0075 if you would like to explore the app further.
Have a great weekend! Tomorrow is pink shirt day. If your child happens to have a pink shirt or any pink item please have them wear it.
We have been working on representing numbers 0-10 on a number line in different ways. We started by placing a numeral on the giant line where we thought it would go. After we did this we had a discussion and made some changes to make our line more accurate. After exploring with the numerals we are beginning to add different number representations to our number line. Ask your child how many ways they can show the number 3... Check out some of our new center work...Use the pictures below to discuss some of our centers with your child. A Bad Case of the Tattle Tounge... |
